You Had the One Job

Less than two minutes ago, I didn’t know what I wanted to say. Yesterday was awful — and I’m not just talking about the White Power Bullies Club all fomentin’ and caterwaulin’ east of here.

But Wednesday was saved by a surprise visit (IRL!) from one of my oldest and dearest friends, on the eve of his birthday.
Now I’m feelin’ as badass as Steve McQueen burnin’ rubber outta the back parking lot of the county lockup.

Life is complicated. People are complex.
Everyone struggles with this because we’re simple creatures that need defining characteristics so we can function on a daily basis: “Who are you? What do you do?”
Once I know what you do and who (I believe) you are, I move on.
Which is completely unfair, because:
YOU ARE MORE THAN ONE THING.
Always.
I am a human being who loves words. But I also love images — have since I was a child and drew this elephant on WLW-13 TV in Indianapolis:

So, I am also an artist and drew this for you today, the third day of 100 Days of Words & Art. Peace out, you badass Rebel Alliance Space Cats.
