There are at least 4–5 drafts of posts that I print out and hand-edit before anything ever hits Medium. Sometimes I’ll do “pre-writing,” which is essentially just “taking notes.” I get frustrated by that over time and just launch into a first draft, after thinking about a subject for awhile, and as good a time as any. But I never publish directly from a draft. That would be DAFT. ;-) MM
